THE WIND FROM NOWHERE : Pyramid Exterior - rough sketches

Some rough concept sketches from J.G. Ballard’s little known first novel THE WIND FROM NOWHERE.
Global hurricane strength winds blast and scour the earth driving the population underground.
Hardoon, a billionaire with plans to take over everything has the foresight to build a concrete pyramid to protect himself from the apocalyptic winds. Underneath is a system of bunkers housing his own private army.
Here are some rough sketches, exploring variations on how the pyramid would look. In the novel the pyramid is made out of poured concrete, so I opted for a very brutalist style of architecture.
J. G. Ballard’s style is well matched with lots of concrete and since the novel came out in the early 60’s I didn’t want it to look too contemporary.
